A four-bay Gothic church by Crouch & Wilson of 1869-70 of bluestone with contrasting freestone quoins and detailing. The facade includes a four-light window with tower and spire to the south-west covered in slate. The bellcast profile of the spire and the horizontal panel of the belfry level, here containing three quatrefoil openings, are characteristic of the architects. Classified: 23/02/1978 |

St Albans Homestead at Whittington, a single storey 30-roomed brick mansion, was erected in 1873 for the noted race horse breeder and trainer James Wilson. The Melbourne architect James T Conlan designed the extensive homestead in the fashionable polychromatic mode with an elaborate cast iron verandah by Geelong foundry men Humble & Co. Gatehouse - St Albans Homestead

Built in 1890-91 by Henderson and Marryat, this red brick gatehoue was added by John Grozier to St Albans although subsequent subdivision of the estate has diverted the driveway. The cream brick string courses and trim related the design to that of the main house and the belltower adds a note of distinction. See also File Number 3978 St Albans Homestead.

This organ is an example of English organ-building circa 1850-1860. Its early history is unknown but thought to be of English origin. Apart from additions made in 1931 by C W Andrewartha it remains in substantially original form. The pipework, being made up of secondhand odd lots, is older than the organ.
